Motorhomes are brilliant on the road, but reversing into a tight campsite pitch or a narrow driveway is a different story. This customer wanted a clean, reliable solution they could count on, so we supplied and fitted a full reversing camera system from scratch.
The Cable Run
One of the biggest challenges on a motorhome installation is the cable run. Unlike a car or van, the cable has to travel the full length of the vehicle through the habitation area — past cabinetry, wiring looms, and insulation. We routed everything neatly along the headlining, keeping the cabling hidden and secure throughout.
The Rear Camera
The reversing camera was mounted centrally on the rear panel of the AutoTrail, positioned above the rear window and ladder for a clean, wide view. The bracket was fitted securely and the camera sealed against the elements — important for a vehicle that’ll be used in all weathers across the UK.
The In-Cab Monitor
Inside the cab, a dedicated monitor was fitted to the overhead console. It activates automatically when reverse gear is selected, giving the driver a clear, real-time view of what’s behind — no fiddling, no guesswork.
